Volunteers In Medicine’s Tenth Annual Swingin’ Summer Night fundraising dinner, auction and dance was held at Shadow Hills Country Club on Thursday, August 2. What an amazing evening! Guests got into the “Denim & Diamonds” theme and posed for pictures with Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne cutouts.
Over 150 guests attended, and thanks to those who opened their hearts, over $79,000 was raised to benefit VIM. Guests enjoyed “Diggin’ for Diamonds” for a chance to win 1 of 7 Mexican Fire Opals (donated by Mamie & John Arnold) or 3 princess cut diamonds totaling 1 carat weight with a bottle of Dom Perignon (donated by Beaudet Jewelers, Jo-Mae & Joe Gonyea, II and Vicki Edwards). A “Spirits” Wall was also a big hit where guests selected a surprise bottle of hard alcohol disguised in jeans. Dinner was delicious and the Blue Wave Band from Portland did a fantastic job of providing upbeat dance music to end the evening in style.
Next year’s planning is in the works so mark your calendar for Thursday, August 1 and stay tuned for exciting news on the next theme!
